That is interesting, but I would hope most people don't just "friend" anyone on Facebook (though I know some aren't careful)...and if you are an honest person who follows the law, you shouldn't have to worry too much. But it is weird how times change so much!!!!
I'm not a conspiracy theorist or anything like that, but it IS interesting in light of this article that Facebook now automatically indexes all your info on Google, which allows everyone to view it, not just those you've friended. You can change your settings, but they don't make it easy to find.
To change this option, go to Settings --> Privacy Settings --> Search --> then UN-CLICK the box that says 'Allow indexing'. Facebook kept this one quiet. Copy and paste onto your status for all your friends.
I think social networking (and webcams) make it so much easier to communicate with my friends and family all over the world.
I hope I only post information on a social network (I'm on about 6 of them) that I would be fine if it were picked up and printed in my local paper (as if the people in my town care that I'm making pasta for my kids again!)
I guess I am sorta weird cuz the cameras in London don't bother me
It's the difference between public and private. If they wanted to install cameras in my house instead of at the market, in the tube and in public parks that would be another thing.
If I wanted a locked server for my family and friends I could do that too....but I find FB more fun and faster moving than that. and I think it is clever of the govt to pick up people who violate their parole and post their biz on a public forum for all to see!
Hmmm, you can board a plane with explosive materials and no one even notices. But heaven help you if you give your political opinion on the Internet. What a crazy, stupid, mix-up world we're living in ...

Real life seems a little more like a dystopian novel every day!

If you Google your name and it takes you straight to your Facebook information, you are unprotected. You may need to adjust your privacy settings.
This is all so interesting. I didn't know if all that. Thanks for sharing.
Very interesting. I wonder how younger people view/value privacy since they've grown up with the internet.
Very interesting!
Well that just makes me want to get right on out there and do more on my facebook page! Not!
Forgive me Nora, I've tagged you!
I am just an oddball?
