I'm Plotting Again...

Revisions are done!! (whew), ...at least for now. I'm going to set it aside for a few weeks then read it again with a fresh head. In the meantime, I'm working on a query letter, researching agents, and listening to a new character chatter away in my head. She's great fun and very different from my 1st protagonist. We're spending time together -getting to know each other over pizza and soda. She talks about her trouble a bit, but she's quite interesting. Might be a relationship worth pursuing.

Brenda has nominated me for the Kreativ Blogger award. Thanks, Brenda! I am supposed to list 7 things I love and nominate 7 new people. My list is a bit of a hodgepodge. Here goes:

1. I love my family. My husband is the best, and my children make me proud!

2. I love my students. The kids I work with are terrific. I am fortunate, indeed!

3. Solitude. Don't get me wrong - I love people, but they drain my battery dry. There's nothing quite like a few quiet, uninterrupted hours to recharge.

4. If I have time, I love to cook. I enjoy putting together a nice dinner for my family or making a dessert for friends.

5. I love to write. There is nothing I enjoy more than sitting at my computer and creating an entirely new reality.

6. I love walking in the park when the weather cooperates. I'm looking forward to spring!

7. I love a good book. One that makes me forget who I am and what my to-do list is for the day (or even the week).

I now nominate: chocolateer. As for the other six, I'm a bit late jumping into the game. My blogging friends have beat me to the punch!! But I'll name them anyway:

I love solitude, too!
And it looks like we're on the same reading schedule for the year. Jane Eyre is coming up soon for me, too!

It is so exciting when you "meet" a character for the first time and you begin to spend time with them. I love that as well! Oh, and Jane Eyre is one of my all time fave novels. I read it once or twice a year. Actually, I have it beside my desk, ready to go! Congrats on your award, girlfriend! XOXO

Ditto on the need to recharge alone. They say that's part of the definition of introvert/extrovert. It's not just how much you talk; it's where you get your energy from.

I loved your list, Nora. I could use a little solitude right now. My six-year-old is talking nonstop right now. Help me.

I just got home from a large (and loud) gymnastics meet. I've retreated to my room for quiet. I told the kids, "No one can interrupt me unless there's blood involved." That usually does the trick.

Rena - When my son was that age he didn't breathe between sentences. Every now and then I would say, "Mommy has a 2-minute time out. That means you're not allowed to talk to her her for 2 minutes." We would set the timer. He would get very serious - time out is something he had lots of experience with. About every 10 seconds he would say, "I'm doing pretty good not talking to you. Right, Mom?" It was amazing how those 10-second intervals of quiet let my brain rest!

Here's wishing regular dates with solitude for all of us...

I like solitude too. I think I must be a recluse, which is not quite as isolationist as a hermit. And WOW, thanks for nominating me again Nora.

I love #3...I sometimes feel like I am a little anti-social when I get home in the evenings...grin...I don't even want to answer the phone...I'm happy to be alone in my little world...grin...
